I was hugely sad when I read your email about Frank. He was a lovely, lovely bloke and I really rated him as a person. I admired the fact that he did as much as he possibly could to promote and support efforts to establish Tango in the North of England, a true pioneer, yet he was always relaxed, modest and self-effacing. What a smile he had! What a twinkle in his eye! Whenever, I came to Manchester or Leeds, I always looked out for him and was so pleased when he so often turned up. It was an enormous pleasure to have known him and to have seen how much pleasure he gave to so very many… including me!

The tango world will be the poorer without Frank. There is a massive void left by his passing, I am grateful to have known him and for the time he gave us. Without Frank I would not be dancing tango now and I suspect the same is true for many others.

The world and tango community have suffered a great loss. Frank Taught me some of my first steps in Tango and always had plenty of time to share his wealth of knowledge with all. and it was always a pleasure to see him at the events still enjoying the dance that he loved so much. all my condolances goes out to his family. And the world is far better place for him being in it.

Frank was part of my introduction to tango many years ago. I remember, turning up to Leeds University as a nervous beginner. But Frank was always around to offer a dance and some confidence to those of us starting out. I will remember him for his good humour and generous spirit. My condolences to all of his family.

To Gail, Phil, Amy and Eleanor and to Margaret, my heartfelt sympathies. I learned much from Frank in my early days as an archer and have special memories of his humour and banter when we had the friendly shoots against members from Blackpool. He has had a wonderfully fulfilling life to celebrate.
My prayers are with and for you.

My condolences to Gail, Amy and Eleanor who have lost such a lovely, generous father and grandfather. Thanks to Frank, there is now a huge Tango scene in the North of England. My occasional dances with Frank were always a pleasure. Frank was always smiling. We last talked about his videos - he was busy doing some copying for archives.

I want to send my deepest condolences to Frank’s family at this sad time. Frank has touched and influenced so many of us in the Tango community in the Northwest. I remember Frank teaching me my first tango step and the magic of tango begun for me then. Frank was always so generous with his time, knowledge and always encouraged us on our tango journey. The colourful life stories he shared with me and his boundless energy I will never forget. I will miss him dearly but he will always have a special place in my heart and memory.

I am so very sad at the news of Frank's death. I have known him for nearly five years now at both the Chorley and, more recently, the Ulverston tango groups. We have learned an incredible amount from him and he will be sorely missed for his vast knowledge and great generosity.

I am grateful to have known Frank. He helped & inspired me to continue tango as he did with so many others, & I was also fortunate to teach with Frank for several years, mostly in Leeds. But Frank was so much more than a `tanguero,`
- his knowledge of music in general, literature, especially Shakespeare, made conversation with him worthwhile &
informative.
A man of great integrity, enormous generosity, simplicity, honesty, bravery, great kindliness...a man in whom you could place complete trust.
Dear Frank, I am so proud to have known you..thank you for enriching my life,
Carole

Dear Frank,
You gave me my first tango class in Leeds. I loved the way you sent us off to the dance floor to ask people to dance after only one class.
Thank you for starting off a new dimension in my life.

Gareth and I have known Frank for over 20 years. He was always willing to help with archery related issues, both coaching and by passing on his encyclopaedic knowledge and experience through presentations to the club. He was always willing to help anyone, whether experienced or inexperienced. He will be fondly remembered. Our condolences go to Gail and family and Margaret.

Sorry to hear about Frank. I cant say I knew him well but he was very easy to get along with honest and straightforward. I met him teaching with Attila in Manchester. He was really helpful to me and a very nice person, always willing to pass on knowledge and dance with me even when I was a complete beginner. My regards to his family.

I was very surprised and saddened to hear the news of Frank's death too. I have lost count of the years when I first met Frank but he truly made a deep impression upon me with regard to his dancing....especially the Tango and I loved watching his videos and actually observing him dance so proficiently.
I have been able to telephone him over the years and he was most helpful in all respects with regard to the dance I so wished to master. It was a wonderul treat when he took me on the floor and led me through some terrific steps with ease. It only takes a good lead and a passion for the dance to make it possible, I think! And Frank could certainly lead.
Maybe it all started when I met you in Saltaire many moons ago at The Day of Dance? Whatever, I am very pleased I knew him - if only a little - whether at Leeds or Manchester and I can thank those early introductions to the dance for my continued interest.
I am certain that all those within his "scene" will be at a loss this week and, of course, those people very close to him. I send my love.

Frank was one of the first people to introduce me to tango and I have not looked back since.
I was only talking to him on the phone a couple of weeks ago, telling him about my new class in Preston and he was so supportive and gave me lots of advice, I will miss him.
He will be missed by so many people and my thoughts are with his family at such a sad time

There are no words to describe the loss we feel. Frank was a great man, a gentleman, who gave of himself to all of us without a thought for what he might gain. He taught us a a great deal and not just about tango. He shared my obsession with opera (educating me along the way) and classical music. Driving to the Lakes he would regale me with stories of life in the UK and local history. He was immensly proud of his family and shared many stories of his grandaughters with us. We were lucky to see him a few days before he left for Spain. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
